Our Company History

Founder Ben Weaver began building homes in north-central Ohio in the 1950s, along with running a dairy farm operation. By 1970, Ben had sold the dairy operation to pursue his passion for constructing homes, incorporating his home-building business, Weaver Custom Homes (WCH), in 1979.

As client demand grew for commercial, retail, church, and industrial projects, it became clear that the owners needed a commercial division to focus on these markets. So, in 1999, WCH General Contractors (WCHGC) began operations as a DBA of the residential company Weaver Custom Homes, Inc.

Ron Wenger, Ben's Son-in-Law, joined the business in 1983 and became the Vice President of this division. As WCHGC continued to grow and expand, the name was changed to Weaver Commercial Contractor, Inc. (WCC) in 2009, becoming a stand-alone "S" corporation with Ron Wenger as President.

WCC & WCH restructured in 2020 to begin a new chapter as employee-owned companies (ESOP).

In January 2023, Ron Wenger stepped down as president and currently serves as the company's senior advisor. As a result, Mike Eberly (vice president) moved into the role of president, positioning WCC for continued success and growth in the future.
